So NOW they can have a civil conversation! Once someone scrapes Sally off the wall. I do feel for her a little though- its certainly been one thing after the other for her.
(Also, its interesting how demon… uh… magic? auras? whatevs, can absorb/nullify incoming magic… so long as the user is focused/pissed enough to do so. I wonder if Arrie’s floaty trick would work at all on a wild demon?
Well to kinda explain the interaction of powers here, It’s not that Arrie’s magic is being absorbed or stopped, it’s that the activation of Sally’s aura has a bit of wind to it’s activation.
It’s a bit of that DBZ thing where clouds of dust and rubble rocket away from people as they power up.
But in this case, that force didn’t really supersede Arrie’s wind. The glowy effects were pushed back for a moment, but after Sally’s own glowy effects were done, Arrie’s magic rushed back in and went back to doing it’s job.
The long and short of it was I wanted to have a moment where she was floating there looking all ominous. Play into the whole “floaty powerful person” thing… and then have her be stuck there because she was never actually floating under her own power.
Dunno if it worked as well as I wanted… I am sitting here explaining it after the fact.
