they’re still mining at ebon, they let it seal here. if the wrights would have had the decency to stop making the hole bigger people could have been . . . saved?
I figured either it’s because they’re digging at the leyline…Or they’re actually getting somewhere with their crazy plan to…Whatever they’re trying to do.
My pet theory is that the Wights were outright pulling the “Bile” out, in rather large quantities to boot. Using a Blood metaphor for a momment, they’d be like a leach or mosquito, and those usually have some way to trick or force the blood vessel to stay open, instead of clotting, which would be the leystone. Whatever THAT was has to be a key factor.
It seems Thel’nasia is scabbed quickly over while Ebon Creek bled much, much, more.
As helpful as the comparisons are, a lot of the comparisons used to describe the Leyline to other things are really just tools to compress complicated information into something easier to interpret. One of the details no one seems to be touching on is the programming of the Leyline itself. It usually resets even after alterations to the normal flow are disrupted by using magic. The reaction that happened in Thal’nasia is normal for ruptures in the Leyline meaning that it’s functioning just fine, though the growing Leystone will become a danger to the city as time passes.
The page identified that Ebon Creek is an anomaly. The Demons are abnormal and it probably has to do with the Wights’ plan and more importantly, TINDERBOLT trying to alter a basic function the Leyline has to achieve a desired effect but it going awry.
(For people who don’t want to backtrack: Tinderbolt was the one who wrote the Leyline book that Eric read at the library where we found out about the programming of the Leyline. He was also the Hadron Collider’s original Magitech engineer as mentioned by Arthur later before Azgrut took over. And presumably, Tinderbolt was also also Elven.)
So I don’t know who’s going to see this, but anyone notice something fantastic happening? It’s been shown in the last couple of pages but it’s more easily seen on this one.
I sense a nerdy rant incoming… I hope I’m totally wrong. @_@

ADDENUM: Whatever few demons DID spawn at thel’nasia were either destroyed in the crossfire, or simply burnt all their energy off and disappeared.
