Lore Lesson 1: The Races of Thal’nasia
So it may be a bit early for the deep dive into the particulars of this subject, but it’s certainly ground I can’t see myself covering directly.
Normal updates resume next week, this comic gets moved to the lore section at some point a week or two after that.
THIS ANSWERS. So many questions I’ve had. Namely: Are the Wight teeth just for show, or are they genetic, or…
Turns out yes, they are natural and very much designed for the purpose you’d expect. I find that SO delightful. I also wonder how many generations of no necromancy magic and normal other parents you’d have to have before the kids stop looking like wights… maybe I’m overthinking it. XD
(Also, I am SO happy to see Sigvaldi again, especially seeing as he’s letting me check off another box on my Reboot Bingo…)
Wights can’t really get away from necromancy even if they aren’t actively using it. Their personal magical aura is a lovely necromantic purple.
It’s a permanent shift to the bloodline that can’t be diluted out of the gene pool.
As for Sigvaldi… rolling back from all these endgame final boss characters is one of my biggest regrets of the reboot, so I was itching to mention him in some fashion before he hits the story. I just went and checked the bingo square… and yes, that was always something that was going to happen.
Ah, good to know! Thank you for the clarification! :3
Also yessss Sigvaldi was always one of my favorites. He’s also a friend of mine’s absolute favorite, and he hasn’t even read the comic.
(Also I only just realized that my blog didn’t have pagination so uh. That’s been fixed.)
OH also! Finished another bit of fanart!

It’s the animal version of Jericho this time! Really happy with how this one came out!
Funnily enough I went to the zoo over the weekend and saw a Komodo Dragon. They certainly are nature’s Jericho.
Honestly Jericho was always a weird character. He’s completely overpowered, but all of those powers are passive and he’s got no clue at all how to apply them in a fight. So his confidence and arrogance shatters at the first sign of opposition and he’s stuck wondering what the point of any of it is. And then he just kinda moped around for the rest of the story. But then again given who his father is, I kinda see where he gets it.
Impromptu blurb about Jericho aside, I continue to love your art. It’s a great design that suits him super well.
Oh, nice! :0 I wish the zoos around here had them! They’re beautiful animals.
Also, yesss, I always loved that about him! It’s a unique personality and powerset! It’s really interesting to have a character with very powerful abilities… that are completely useless against 80% of the people he comes across. And lets be real, as much as they dislike him… you can definitely see where Jericho and Sam get bits of their personality from.
And thank you! As usual, I love drawing your characters. :3 He was actually pretty difficult though, considering that I couldn’t for the life of me figure out how the rig around his chest and neck was shaped. XD Hopefully I was able to convey it correctly.
