There’s alot behind Maxwell’s tiny line there. It was just a short thing to end the page on but it hints at a bigger part of Maxwell and Santris’s interactions…
Maxwell gets weirded out when Santris starts talking about his other associates and cooperation. And that’s for two reasons, firstly he finds the “let’s all work together” mentality to be a little too “sunshine and rainbows” but he can’t argue with “let’s all work together and build an army of giant robots and zombies”… and more importantly the mentioning of “associates” worries Maxwell because it reminds him that he’s just one of the many people working with Santris to further their own goals.
Poor kid
So… Azgrut is an undead elven child, a magitech prodigy, and a cynical smartass? I think I found my new favorite character.
